After more than 2 months of persistent reminders and recommendations that my system should be upgraded to Windows 10, touting its advantages, that it would be free and that my system was compatible, I finally gave in and upgraded from my long-reliable Windows 7 to Windows 10 on the 1st of January, 2016. Everything went well with the download and upgrade for a while. I could access all my files, the internet, my mail and things appeared to run slightly faster than I remembered with Windows 7.
However when I restarted my system today, all of a sudden I couldn't access anything on the network. Every internet access was returning a message of 'No Network'. I could not access my emails either. Strangely, my WiFi was working on my smartphone and my TV which works on the same WiFi network was also working. When I called my network provider, I was told that it was a problem with Windows 10 not accessing the WiFi and they could not help me, other than offering a tech support service at $6 per month! I looked up the problem on my smartphone and followed some suggested fixes involving going into native command mode and entering some long 'reg delete HKCR......' and 'netcfg....' commands. None of which worked for me. Luckily, the feature to revert back to Windows 7 is still around for a month. So extremely disappointed and damn-right frustrated I have reset my system back to Windows 7.

It's been almost 6 months since Windows 10 was released. How is it possible that such a major issue which has been encountered by many users has not been addressed and promptly corrected. If it is a matter of incompatible drivers, VPN or whatever, why are there no instructions to advise users of the essential steps that need to be in place for something as important as WiFi access to work? As far as I am concerned, it makes the installation of Windows 10 a complete failure.

Can any one please share a working solution they have tried, which has worked over the long run. I would like to take advantage of the pluses I experienced with Windows 10 for the few hours it worked. But I am rather gun-shy now. What a shame for Microsoft!
